Christmas List #1: “Overruns” Store at Retiro

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Buy One Take One is one of our secret stores when it comes to overruns… since we’ve posted it here its no longer a top secret :P

For most people, Surplus shop is there super duper top secret store hehehe but honestly, not all items in Surplus shop is authentic overruns. You must be keen to know if you’re holding a real piece of what we call “Good find!”.

Anyway, Buy One Take One is a very unattractive store. You won’t even bother to stop and check it out if you’re passing by Retiro St. in Quezon City… You may even think that this store is selling “UK” stuff (Ukay-ukay) hehehe :) … However, since it’s just beside Monterey after buying our weekly meat supply, we decided to check this out for ourselves as to satisfy our curiosity. :P

Xiao Chi Take out food

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

One time we’re on our way home, we saw the old Ersao in Banawe being renovated. At first, we thought this is an extension of Ersao or something but it bacame a take out food shop.

We’re very curios what this place is offering, since they don’t have ads on their store front. Last November 9th, we decided to drop by and check it out.

They have a limited menu but for people like us who are in hurry it’s easier to decide what to order :P … So that day, we tried their stir fried noodles… (only Php 69 per order) As for us, it’s yummy!… specially when eaten hot and a little spicy.

So, last November 13th (hehehe just 4 days apart… looks like we fell in love with the food huh?) we decided to drop by at Xiao Chi again to grab a quick lunch before heading to our meeting. This time we tried their stir fried rice, dumpling and mochi balls.

Wai Ying Fastfood

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Waiying, a place you should try after your divilandia shopping or visit at Binondo.

This fastfood is one of our favorite since 2003. We learned about Wai ying from a Chinese friend who lives in Masangkay. We frequent it not just because of the price but for the food. Ever since, we make it a point to drop by this place after a heavenly shopping spree at 168, tutuban, and divilandia. :)

Wai ying’s ambience is far from Causeway, Hap Chan, or Wan Chai… It’s set-up is more of a canteen style… But don’t under estimate this place because they serve super yummy hakaw for only Php 50 per order (4 pcs), Curry Beef Siomai Php 45 per order (3pcs) and Siomai Php 50 per order.
