Weekend at Tagaytay Ü (Part 1)

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

It’s our 3rd year wedding anniversary last October 9th. So we decided to go to tagaytay to unwind and celebrate. Ü

Since we needed to bring mom to the Airport on October 9th, we scheduled our road trip on October 10th to 11th… the only problem was our PJ ends in “0″ (in Manila, Philippines we have color coding scheme – vehicles ending in 9 or 0 will not be allowed to go out from 7am-7pm). So we left early morning to avoid the coding. Here’s our original itinerary:

October 10th

5:30 am – leave the house
6:00 am – Stop over at Petron South Super Highway for tire check and buy ice
7-7:30 am – reach Tagaytay and look for a local restaurant to eat breakfast
9:00 am – go to Paradizoo
12:00 nn – Lunch at Hawaiian Bar-b-que at La Boutique
2:00 pm – Check-in at the T-House
7:00 pm – Dinner at Greek Tavern and dessert after at any cafe in tagaytay

October 11th

Buy Ube at Good Sheperd after check-out
Lunch at Sanctuario and eat our favorite Bulalo Pasta and Smoked Bangus Pasta
Buy Beef at Mahogany Market
Buy Formosa Pineapples and Fresh Milk and Milk Candy at Moo’s
Stop over at Paseo Sta. Rosa

… But that remained a plan and the weather was rainy when we reached Tagaytay so we had a different itinerary… :)

La Luz Beach Resort at Laiya, Batangas

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

It’s our first time to go to Laiya, Batangas to enjoy the beach and nature trip :) last May 1, 2008

At first, we were trying to book at Palm Beach Resort but since we just planned the trip 3 days before our preferred date, it’s already fully booked. So, our friend called up several resorts in the area to check for available accomodations. Luckily, we were able to get 1 premier room at La Luz.

Upon reaching the resort, we were very happy with how the receptionists welcomed us. They were very accomodating and courteous. We immediately fell in love with the place. They have a very cozy place. Very clean and relaxing cabanas and a row of beach parasols and wooden beach chairs (you could use these free of charge, WOW!).

They have a couple of beach activities to enjoy — kayak, snorkling, beach volleyball, bon fire at night, board games, and our well loved body massage. :) Everything is priced affordably.

We also like the buffet meals that they offer. It is not gourmet but not canteen food… we could say that your Php 950 (lunch, afternoon snacks, dinner and breakfast) is really “sulit” and can be enjoyed by a certified barat! :P We were super “busog” all the time. Each meal consists of pork, chicken, vegetable and fish dish — plus dessert and juice drink.

So if ever you plan to go to Laiya, Batangas try La Luz. :)
