Going to our office in laong-laan – blumentritt, we take different routes for several reasons (1) for safety purposes (2) we hate traffic and (3) to check out a new place to eat for lunch. Yeah, banawe – retiro is our usual lunch haven since Mrs Baratmode does not have enough time to cook lunch due to her complicated schedule 
We frequent several homegrown restaurants in the area such as Octoboy, Dulzeria, Yellow Chicken, Betty’s, Ersao, Tasty Dumpling, Le Ching, Tempura, Muang Thai, Jonas, Busy moms, Asian Twist, Shanghai Handpulled Noodles and our newest discovery Chicken Charlie.
It was funny how we first tried this place. A month before it opened, Mrs Baratmode noticed that there’s a new restaurant opening soon infront of Tasty Dumplings. But every time we thought of trying the place, it’s still close! So the excitement went down and down and down and finally forgot about it.
One saturday, we passed by Retiro and finally the place is now open, but before we thought we want to try the food, we found ourselves infront of ersao and wanted to eat at Octoboy. But since we’re in Banawe, parking is really a problem specially it’s a saturday. So, Mrs BaratMode said, today is “Charlie Chicken’s lucky day!” so we decided to go back and eat there.
We ordered 2 Charlie’s Bowl (Php 59 each), 4pc Chicken wings (Php 89) and the sarsaparilla which is more expensive than our food!
The bowls were of great value, but the chicken topping is “bitin” so we opt to order additional chicken wings. It taste good and the price is affordable 
The crispiness of the chicken wings is awesome! The soy garlic sauce is perfect with rice … although the chicken meat itself lacks flavor. The sarsaparilla tastes good but if you’re on a budget it’s kinda pricey
Things we like about the place are (1) the owner is very warm and accommodating especially his dad ;P (2) the place is cozy (3) value for money (4) good food and (5) a different way to serve chicken! hehe inasal is all over banawe lately :S
Things we think they need to improve (1) availability of ice for the drinks (2) availability of other drinks aside from soda and (3) house water please
Overall, it’s a good place to dine. In fact, we already came back the other day.
Chicken Charlie (We always remember this place as “Charlie Chicken” )
